Midland Credit Agrees to $20.5M Robocall Settlement

Midland Credit Management Inc. and several related companies agreed to pay $20.5 million to settle robocall class actions filed against the debt collector. Approximately 41 million people had received the unsolicited robocalls that allegedly violated the Telephone Consumer Protection Act (TCPA).

The plaintiffs had complained that Midland violated the TCPA by leaving recorded debt collection voicemails on consumers’ phones without first obtaining the consumers’ permission to be auto-dialed.
