Hooters Faces Spam Text Lawsuit from a Single Text
A Georgia federal judge denied Hooters’ request that the court dismiss a TCPA spam text lawsuit that claimed that Hooters sent unsolicited text messages. The judge ruled that a single improper text was sufficient to permit the lawsuit to proceed.
The plaintiff in the lawsuit claims that Hooters violated the TCPA by sending a text message to a list of diners that Hooters knew included people who previously had opted out of receiving text messages.
